i thought i’d share what just may have been the best new year’s i’ve ever had. if this doesn’t say a little something about me, i don’t know what does…

i spent the night at home with a fun, interesting, sweet boy and my lovely sister. we ordered dinner in, devoured my sister’s oh-so-yummy chocolate cake, played scrabble & watched the ball drop on dick clark’s new year’s rockin’ eve. (squeezed in was a little reminiscing about last year’s new york city new year’s experience – which was crazy fun, but does not compare to this year’s celebration)

and before we knew it we’d talked the rest of the night away, with my new bill evans trio cd playing in the background. it all ended with an insightful, interesting convo by the fire until 2 am about life, in all of its struggles and joys.

good food + heavenly chocolate +  soothing jazz + cozy fire + comfy couch + good game of scrabble + great conversation = one happy little anna

really, it could not have been better.

carpe diem, eh? if i believed in resolutions, this would be mine.

i think this just might be a beautiful start to a beautiful year.

happy new year’s to you!

  1. I would agree with you that the particular combination of blissful things is a recipe for ringing in a blissful year. I have been playing Scrabble all week on my new rotate-able game board. Happy 2007 to you, Anna!
