who says print is dead?!

the new york times and other papers began selling out of their print editions today, so many of them pumped out more copies.  the paperboys found lines wrapped around the block for the election-day news, and people were happily waiting in line for hours to get their copy.

the starbucks and small market by my apartment in san francisco [where i often pick up a sunday edition of the nyt here and there] had sold out all of their copies when i checked this morning.

you can find the glorious story of thousands clamoring for print here

for some of us journalism junkies, this is a good sign.  even if this mad dash for print was purely for commemorative reasons, print has a purpose!
